I did some extra processing of the original photo. I blame Megan Sommerville. ;-)

Niece Ivy. Another edit using a new technique for selective coloring I saw demonstrated yesterday at Precision Camera’s photo expo.

This is the second version of the photo.

Project 365: Billie "Kitty Day" Holiday Cat

February 14th, 2009 · No Comments

(February 14th, 2009) A shot of Holiday, since she was being reasonably sane. I took my friend Todd’s advice since I was using flash – manual, f 4.0, shutter speed of 1/60, and bounce the flash off the ceiling. Turns out having left the ISO at 400 was the right thing to do. At 200 and 100, she was under exposed. And, as is my wont, I ran the photo through some Nik filters. In this case, Silver Efex Pro. I’m seeing a significant trend towards B&W over the last month or so.

Project 365: Lighting with an iPhone

February 9th, 2009 · No Comments

(February 8th, 2009) Taking a nod from Strobist (link to come), I decided to try my hand at using my iPhone as the only light source. This is a 30 second exposure, and I moved the phone around to get more even lighting. Added a little Color Efx Pro filter magic as well.

Project 365: The One Where She Put Stickers In Her Hair

January 6th, 2009 · 1 Comment

(January 5th, 2009) I came into the living room to find Emma had put her Fancy Nancy stickers in her hair – as if they were berets. Luckily removal wasn’t traumatic. Later, she turned her butterfly stickers in to a bracelet.

Project 365: Girl on Couch

January 5th, 2009 · No Comments

(January 3rd, 2009) She was wiggling around on the couch, so I took the opportunity to snap a few photos with my macro lens, a 100mm Canon f2.8, which functions very nicely as a portrait lens as well.
