Oh, for crying. Out. Loud. (iPhoto Edition)

Why can’t I, in iPhoto, search for photos by size? Or by any piece of metadata about any specific photo? This is especially puzzling when I can use Automator to search by size.

Why isn’t Automator faster when searching for photos of a certain size? For crying out loud. By all appearences, I could work my way more quickly through my library, flagging the thumbnails than, apparently, Automator can. If only there was another tool that could find and remove the thumbnails.

Oh! There is! Thumbnail Annihilator. It, too, seems to spend seconds on each photo, lazily determining if it meets the specified size criteria.

Granted, there are 24,599 photos in this particular library. If it took a second to look at each one, determine if any dimension is 240 pixels or less, flag it, and move to the next photo, that would be just under 7 hours.

But it’s a COMPUTER! This is the kind of crap it’s supposed to be GOOD at! Still, I’d be OK if it took 7 hours to flag all the thumbnails. Except it takes MUCH longer than that, and is still churning away the next morning when I wake up!

What the F? WHY!?!!?
