Info on HDR

Photography for Real Estate:

Photomatix settings (starting point): Dan Achatz recommends (some place in the PFRE discussion group) starting values:

  • Strength=20
  • Saturation=35
  • White Point=10
  • Black Point=10
  • Gamma=1.

From Stuck in Custom’s HDR tutorial:

  • Strength: 100
  • Color Saturation: 70
  • Light smoothing: 4 (out of 5)
  • Luminosity: +9
  • White Point: 2.5ish
  • Black Point: 1.5ish
  • Gamma: 1.0ish

This looks like an interesting app - I’d like to start playing around with more realistic looking HDRs. Photomatix really punches up the photos, but they almost always have an air of unreality to me. Maybe if I took some time to learn how introduce more subtlety into the images… But seriously, if I had an app wherein I could shoot, download, drag, drop and generate…how cool would that be? Oh. The app. Bracketeer.

Thanks for the mention/shout out - much appreciated! One minor thing, I didn’t write the HDR Tidbits post, I just linked blogged about the post from yet another blog ;)

    Cheers,
    Jason
